James and Lyn Burnett have been serving with Trans World Radio since 1982.
After twelve years with TWR as an engineer in Swaziland, James was transferred to the Africa Regional Office in Johannesburg where he now serves as Regional Engineer.
Gottfried is the Regional Systems Administrator and is responsible for the computerisation of TWR's Africa region. He has played a key role in operations as TWR has moved across to digital audio for recording and broadcasting, by providing the computer networks required and writing software suited to the mission's specific needs. Gottfried also provides key services such as Internet, email, Internet access, data storage and printing facilities.
At a young age, Klaus heard God's call to go to the mission field. He qualified as an engineer at the Cape Technikon and Katja as an occupational therapist at the University of Pretoria.
Klaus's main responsibility is to help maintain TWR's short and medium wave transmitters located about half an hour's drive outside Manzini. This includes checking the transmitters, repairing them when necessary and seeing to it that the audio link to the site is always operational.
Katja enjoys being a housewife and a mother. She also assists the wives of the other missionary families as they host visitors to TWR-Swaziland.
Doug is TWR-Swaziland's fincance director and is responsible for all financial functions on the Swaziland mission field. He works closely with TWR's Africa Regional Office and the corporate office in Cary, North Carolina.
Doug, and his wife Madeleen are working in this position because they had a clear leading from the Lord to go to Swaziland and have loved every moment of their time there.
Steve graduated from Natal University as an electrical engineer and presently serves as Chief Engineer of the Trans World Radio Station in Swaziland. He is responsible for the technical aspects of the work in the studios in Manzini, the computer network and the link that transfers the radio programmes to the transmitter site 35km away on a farm outside Manzini.
While Steve is busy keeping the transmitters on air, Lorraine answers listener letters from various parts of the world and assists with hosting guests and work parties who visit the studios and transmitter site.
